1. What is the Natural Styling Guide DVD?
The Natural Styling Guide DVD provides a step by step demonstration on ten different hair styles. Each model featured in the DVD has natural hair (no relaxer or texture altering chemical).

2. Why should I buy this DVD?
This DVD provides options for individuals who want to go natural without having  to cut off  all of their hair.  It gives step by step demonstrations which make it easy for the average person to follow and  get great results.

3. Is this DVD just for stylists?
Absolutely not.  This  DVD was  created to make natural styling easy for the average person and to give them options with their natural styling.

4. I am a hair stylist, how can this DVD help me?
This DVD will help you expand the services you offer and as a result increase your clientel.   Many stylists are uncomfortable caring for and styling  natural hair.  This DVD will show you step by step, various styling options for those clients that may be interested in going natural.

5.  Can i wear my hair in the styles featured on the DVD if my hair is not completely natural?
Yes you can. Some styles may require additional steps. For example the flat twist set will require you to wrap the ends on rods so the ends will not be straight.

6. What if my hair doesn't turn out like the models hair in the video?
If your result is not what you want, you may want to try a different product. Remember that your hair texture and condition may be different than the models so your result will be different.  A different product may give you a more desired result.
Hair care and maintenance

7. Do i have to cut all my relaxer off when i go natural?
No. There are various styling options available so that you do not have to cut off your hair.  i.e. rod sets, twist sets, and thermal straightening.  The most important element is maintaining a healthy moisture content so that you don't get the breakage that usually occurs when growing out a relaxer.

8. My hair is so dry, what can i do to add moisture?
Use professional   products that are light enough to penetrate the hair cuticle and not sit on top of the hair.  Consult your hair care specialist for product options.  Also, do deep conditioning steam treatments with professional conditioners to increase moisture content.

9. Why do my styles last one or two days?
There can be many reasons for this depending on the style.  Make sure you are trimming your hair on a regular basis.  I suggest every 6 to 8 weeks if you are heat styling or trying to grow out a relaxer.  You can trim less often if you are wearing your hair in it's natural state  or twisted all of the time.

Another reason could be that the moisture content is low or the hair is over processed by chemicals or heat styling. These processes can damage the hair if not done properly and result in poor elasticity of the hair.  When hair has poor elasticity it does not return to its original form after being stretched.  Elasticity is important because it is what allows the hair to hold styles

10 . If i press my hair will my hair texture change?
It is possible that your hair texture will change.  It is important that your stylist know how to straighten your hair in a healthy way so that you do not experience unwanted changes in your hair texture.  Some clients can straighten their hair on a regular basis and not experience loosening of curl pattern.  Others will experience loosening of their curl pattern.  The degree of loosening will vary from client to client as well.  If you are concerned about your texture changing you may want to consider straightening less often and opting for more natural styling, i.e. rod sets and twist sets.

11. Which hair products provide the best styling results?
I always suggest professional products.  However, what works for one does not work for all.  Consult with your natural hair care professional to determine what products will work best for your hair type and texture.

12. If my hair texture is coarse, will these styles work on my hair?
Yes.  The result may not look exactly the same but using the correct products will give you a more desired result.  Remember to also work on your hairs moisture content to improve the look of your styles.

13. What are the benefits of using a ceramic iron oppose to a pressing comb and stove irons?
Pressing combs and stove irons pull moisture out of the hair while straightening .  This results in dry ,dull, and limp hair.  Ceramic irons seal down the cuticle thereby locking in the hairs moisture. This gives a more soft, shiny result.

14. What is the difference between using a steamer once i apply conditioner versus a hooded dryer?
Using a steamer is more beneficial because it produces wet steam, as oppose to the dry heat of a hooded dryer. The steamer will help to increase and maintain the moisture content of your hair, which is important when trying to alleviate dryness and breakage. The hooded dryer pulls moisture out of hair.
